On April 9th, 2007 Mike Pastore of SIHI Pumps contacted John Rachel with an opening, for someone either in the Midwest or Northeast. Due to recent growth, the organization felt they wanted to transition into other markets for a larger consumer base to continuing growing. Mike had realized that the best way to do this is to hire someone from other industries to facilitate the transition. John assured Mike that the position could be filled; being that our database is filled with individuals from all locations selling to different markets. Mike and John then sat down to come up with the parameters of the search, so that John could understand exactly what Mike was looking for. This conversation created a relationship that ended up leading Mike to GRS again months later.

After talking with Mike, and understanding exactly what SIHI was looking for, John Rachel sat down and organized a plan that would eventually lead him to the right person for the job. John knew he had plenty of contacts in the Northeast and Midwest, so he began searching for the individuals that sold to the market places Mike Pastore was looking for. John began narrowing down his search and started to qualify every candidate to make sure they wanted to make a move before presenting them to SIHI. He then hand selected the best candidates for the job and presented them one by one to Mike Pastore. After an in-depth hiring process, Pastore found the guy he wanted and could finally promote his product in different markets. The process went so smooth that Pastore ended up contacting John months later for a Regional Sales Manager position in Houston, Texas.

In talking with Mike Pastore, VP of Sales & Marketing, he could not have been anymore pleased with the result of both searches. After every placement, GRS likes to follow up with a survey to make sure that the process went smooth and if not what suggestions could be made to make it easier. When Mike filled out this survey however he said that he had "no recommendations for improvement, everything was satisfactory." For this reason, Mike believes that if he has any other critical hiring needs he will let GRS know immediately. In fact, Mike stated that "there is at least one opportunity coming up within the next year and we will be sure to contact GRS in the coming months." Mike went on to comment about the process, saying "the Process was very efficient and effective. I would recommend GRS to anyone trying to hire exceptionally qualified personnel."

I also took the time to talk with both employees that were placed with SIHI through GRS. The first individual I spoke with was Michael Harris, who is now the Regional Sales Manager for SIHI. Although most people we talk to are gainfully employed and content with their current situation, such was not the case for Harris. When asked about his reaction to working with a recruiter, Harris responded, "I was open-minded to it because I wasn't super happy with my previous job. John Rachel called and left a voicemail saying he has a possible opportunity for me - a truly refreshing call." After receiving that voicemail, Michael gave John a call back and began the process that would eventually place him with another organization. When asked about working with John Rachel, Michael responded "John was honest and straightforward." Michael also had some comments to say about GRS as an organization, including the entire process. "Overall, it was a pleasant experience. GRS took care of all the details and acted as the mediator between myself and SIHI - which made is easy for negotiations and coming to an agreement." Michael ended the conversation by talking about his current situation and stating that his "new job is definitely a better position" for him.

I also took the time to speak with Todd Shaw, who is now the Market Development Manager at SIHI. Todd was excited to talk about his story and about his relationship with GRS and John Rachel. Todd has worked with other recruiters in the past but the outcome was never any good, claiming that they "typically throw people out until someone sticks with a company, which usually does not translate into success." He went on to compare GRS to those recruiters and stated that "GRS finds candidates that companies are really looking for by doing their homework and knowing the right skill sets that clients are looking for. GRS demonstrates a strong attention to detail." Shaw continued talking about the experience by saying that "I am very happy with GRS and would recommend them to anybody. Everything worked out really well - working with GRS was a positive experience." Todd Shaw believes that he is in a better situation now and went on to say "if GRS hadn't called me, I wouldn't have this job and would be doing something I didn't enjoy as much."

I also took the time to speak with John Rachel about the placements he made with SIHI. "The partnership GRS has formed with SIHI has grown stronger with each search. Our results speak for themselves and I believe SIHI Pumps is a stronger organization because of GRS's work." John went on to explain his relationship and experience with SIHI, stating that "SIHI Pumps is a pleasure to work with because they allow GRS to manage the hiring process from start to finish." This allowed John the freedom to find the best candidate for both positions. John is looking forward to helping SIHI in the future with any other hiring needs that arise in their organization.
